Relationships Matter Week (25-29 January)

We are excited to launch our first Bi-Borough Relationships Matter Week (25-29 January)
Throughout the week we will be hosting a variety of informative, relationship themed events for staff to sign-up for below. These sessions will cover a wide range of topics such as our relationships with our partner, our children and ourselves. We hope there will be something of interest for everyone!
Alongside the events, each day we will be sharing extra content such as videos, blogs and links to further information based on the days themes. So, don’t forget to check our page on the Wire regularly!

Sarah Newman will kick off the week by launching our first Relationships Matter Week.
This event is to highlight the newly created, 'Building Relationships for Stronger Families; why reducing the impact of parental conflict matters to our services'.

This workshop is led by Honor Rhodes (OBE) and Sarah Ingram from Tavistock Relationships, looking at healthy relationships, common problems and how we can communicate more clearly with the people we love and live with.

Joined by Jenny Peters from Connected Lives, this is a webinar looking at the parenting journey of raising young children, as shared in the attachment focused, evidenced-based programme, Circle of Security. |
Working with couples in conflict |

Webinar exploring the importance & challenges of working with parents on their couple relationships within family services. Joined by Psychotherapist Martha Nyman, Hackney Council, the webinar will provide some tips which practitioners might find helpful to their practice

Parenting Teens: what everyone should know about raising teenagers

This webinar, led by Gavin Barker (WCC) & Dr Andrea Rosen (RBKC) explores the evidence behind teenage behaviour and some practical steps that parents can utilise to improve parent- teen relationships. |

Workshop led by Nicola Douglas, Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse, explores what coercive control is, how to recognise it within a relationship and how to seek help. |
Not every marriage is the same: How culture and sexuality can impact relationships

Led by Family Therapist, Tony Charles (Bi-Borough) and joined by BAME and LGBT+ panellists, we will be discussing how differences in our up-bringing, culture, or sexuality shape how we experience couple relationships and explore what services should consider when designing their offers. |
