Change4Life’s Smart Swap campaign

Last Updated 15/10/2019

The campaign encourages families to cut back on sugar by making a few simple swaps to their everyday food and drinks.

Children in England are having around 2,800 sugar cubes more than they should each year, more than double the maximum recommended amount. Too much sugar is bad for children’s health and can cause tooth decay, heart disease and some cancers.

The campaign will look to engage parents through out of home and online advertising. It also encourages children and parents to use the free Change4Life ‘Food Scanner’ app that brings food labels to life and can be downloaded for free from the App store or Google Play. Retailers and manufacturers are supporting the campaign by highlighting healthier options and many will be using a new Change4Life ‘good choice’ badge in-store and in their own advertising and communications.
