Healthy Early Years London

  • Viktorija is the new locality lead for HEYL, replacing Anna

Shortbreaks

  • Referrals for parents of children with EHCP or working diagnosis & disabilities
  • Offer whole family support and respite
  • Families can be signposted for other help and support
  • Parents can self-refer, professionals can refer with consent

Children Centres and Early Help

  • Virtual offer and timetable available above to advertise for families in the localities – please advertise activities to families in your setting and locality
  • Vitamins available for collection for vulnerable families
  • Play packs were available during lockdown
  • COVID secure / socially distanced events available for families to socialise, including socially distanced buggy walks, baby massage and baby weighing
  • Early Help welcome a new Operational Manager for Children’s Centres, Sadia Ramzan and we bid farewell to Judy Matthews who will be greatly missed
  • Health Visitors are up to date with 2 year old reviews

SEND / Makaton Training

  • Free SALT Training next week to support children in setting:  Using signs and visual supports in your setting.  Please book your place here: https://services2schools.org.uk/Event/120852  
  • We will be sending out a SEND questionnaire via Survey Monkey over the coming weeks to get an idea of how many SEND children you have on roll and their need.
  • FREE MAKATON TWILIGHT SESSIONS: Karen Hayon, SALT who attended the EYs Cluster offered free Makaton twilight sessions, we will be asking who is interested in accessing these sessions and what times will be most convenient in the SEND survey monkey questionnaire.  We aim to start these at the end of the year once we have numbers confirmed.

 


Autism Outreach

  • New referral pathway for settings and professionals to refer for ASD support
  • Cressida Davies explained there is a new referral map being created and will be uploaded on to the EYs Hub and Local Offer page very soon.
  • Settings only to contact Autism Outreach for children who have an EHCP or working diagnosis – working diagnosis:  needs identified and going through assessments
  • Referral form to Autism Outreach attached above for those children who are currently under assessment or have a diagnosis / an EHCP
  • For those emerging needs and identification, practitioners are now advised to contact Early Years Advisors first for support strategies
  • Settings/professionals to refer undiagnosed children to the Child Development Clinic for initial assessments
