Action for Change

Who we are

Action for Change is a service for birth parents who have had their children removed permanently from their care. The service aims to prevent recurrent care proceedings by helping birth parents to have a better understanding of the reasons for the previous removal and help manage the consequences of having a child removed from their care.

We are a service that work across Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster City Council. We are a team of multi-disciplinary practitioners using therapeutic and outreach interventions to engage with parents on a one-to-one basis and as part of a group.

Home-start Westminster

Home-start supports ANY family living in Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea who needs them, provided there is at least 1 child under 5, or a baby on the way.  Rich or poor, settled or transient; there are times when we all need support and friendship but do not know where to turn.  Our trained volunteers visit weekly to help to give encouragement, emotional support, practical help, or assistance with accessing local services. We use a person-centred, empowering approach which models positive parenting and helps families in different areas of their lives, including finances, housing and relationships etc.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you are a family that could use our support, or if you think you could spare 2 hours a week to help transform lives as a volunteer. Click here to find information on how to contact us.
