Bi-Borough Sensory Impairment Support Service Consultation

The council has announced a proposal to develop a new Bi-Borough Sensory Impairment Support Service. This will be led by the Westminster Training and Outreach Service and aims to improve support for children and young people with sensory impairment in Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster from September 2019. In order to ensure the service reflects the concerns of its potential users, the council is seeking views and comments on the proposed changes.

The proposal is for a service that will work flexibly with the two resource base providers in Westminster at Edward Wilson Primary School (for Visual Impairment) and St Augustine’s CE High School (for Hearing Impairment). There is no proposed reduction in provision. This is an opportunity to innovate and provide best-value services across both boroughs. Please follow this link for more details on the proposal and a summary of what this might mean.

Please send any views or comments on this proposal to holly.holmes@rbkc.gov.uk by the 8th February 2019.
