New 'Recovery and Resilience' resource for nurseries and schools

Last Updated 11/06/2019

As we pass the date that marks two years since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the Bi-borough Educational Psychology Consultation Service (EPCS) has developed a 'Recovery and Resilience' resource booklet for nurseries and schools affected by Grenfell.

The booklets provide information and practical advice for staff in relation to how to cope with stress related to anniversaries of traumatic incidents and how to support children over the anniversary period. In the secondary version we have included an additional section on ‘Recognising the impact of thoughts and feelings on behaviour following traumatic events’ as this is often an area many secondary teachers seek help with.

Download a copy of the booklet for nurseries and primary schools here, and secondary schools here

The Bi-Borough EPCS will continue to be happy to work closely with nurseries and schools over the anniversary period.  We also have additional copies of our ‘Things That Can Help’ - a resource book of activities that promote calming, self-efficacy and connectedness to help to manage stress for children aged 5 – 16 years. Please ask your link Educational Psychologist if you would like more copies or if there is anything further we can help with.
