Sport for Confidence is a multi-award-winning organisation supporting adults who face barriers (including those with disabilities) to get involved in sporting activities in mainstream settings.
Partnership between leisure centres and local sports clubs sees health professionals working directly with sports coaches and staff to make reasonable adjustments and create truly accessible sport and leisure opportunities.
The sessions are fun, inclusive and active with reasonable adjustments made to break down any barriers within the leisure centre to ensure physical exercise and activity is available to anyone.
The health professional works closely with the coaching team and leisure staff to share knowledge and expertise and ensure a person’s first visit to a leisure centre is a positive one. We aim to support people to access mainstream facilities here at the leisure centre, enabling independence, confidence and a sense of belonging.
From 6th November 2019, a multi-sports session will run every Wednesday from 12 noon - 1pm at Seymour Leisure Centre
The group will be led by both a health professional and Sports Coach.
Each session will cost £3.05 per person.
