Since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, Full of Life have been in dialogue with RBKC officers regarding the families who have been significantly affected.
Following on from discussions with parents we felt it would be useful to arrange therapeutic group counselling sessions, delivered by experts in Trauma Care. RBKC has provided Full of Life with funding to organise these sessions for people affected by the Grenfell Tower Tragedy. This includes people who live in the surrounding area or who have sadly lost friends and family.
These sessions will be delivered by Joanne Stubley, a specialist from the Tavistock and Portman Trauma Unit which has expertise in helping people in the aftermath of Trauma. Joanne is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy and Chair of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists. She leads the adult section of Tavistock Trauma Service, and has experience of working with individuals, groups and organisations who have experienced trauma. Joanne is also actively involved in teaching and training in this field, with a particular interest in complex trauma.
Sessions will take place at Full of Life on the following dates:
- 19th September 11.30am
- 4th October 11.30am
- 8th November 11.30am
- 22nd November 11.30am
- 6th December 11.30am
If more individualised therapy is needd, parents can be referred into individual counselling sessions organised by our Local CAMHS services.
