Carers Express
ADreamArts programme for children and young people ages 11-19 who have caring responsibilities. A young carer is any person under the age of 18 who provides emotional and/or practical support for a loved one. The project runs free, creative projects which take place primarily over the school holidays, as well as a free photography project on some weekends.
We also partake in creative workshops at galleries, museums and other cultural hubs, take trips to see plays and musicals, and have meals out together.
Self-referral is welcome, so if you think you might be a young carer, get in touch with DreamArts and we can chat through your experiences and what support would be available for you from a range of local organisations. Please also fill in the application form.
Carers Express is currently delivering free photography workshops on the first Sunday of every month at thePortman Early Childhood Centre – nearest tube Edgware Road (Bakerloo line). Come along and participate in photography activities, trips, make new friends, play games and have fun. Lunch is provided and is free.
