Charing Cross Library is a busy library serving residents, commuters and the local Chinese community, and is home to our CD collection.

Free inclusive facilities available at the library include:

  • Under-5 drop in sessions (e.g. storytime, songs and rhyme)
  • Chatterbooks reading group for children (aged 6-11), where children and get help with their reading development and take part in fun reading activities. 
  • Access to computers and the internet
  • Wide range of books to borrow, including audio and e-book formats, and Chinese-language collection.

Access for people with disabilities

Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access in this library. There are 3 steps and a handrail at the entrance. Most of the music collection and non-fiction books are situated on the first floor and accessed via a staircase (17 steps) with handrails. Registered assistance dogs are welcome.
