Specialist Resource Base for Speech, Language and Communication Needs
Pimlico Academy Speech and Language resourced provision provides children aged 11-16 years who have speech, language and communication needs the opportunity of accessing the curriculum and social opportunities offered by a mainstream school with the support of teachers and teaching assistants who are specialists in language development and work alongside speech and language therapists. The resource base provides an environment which enables small group learning, direct intervention alongside and/or in addition to regular classroom learning.
The resourced provision enables young children to follow an individual programme of intervention to support the development of the speech and language skills which underpin learning.
A key focus is the provision of evidence-based intervention to support language development and educational progress.
