Carers Express is a DreamArts program for children and young people aged 7-18 who have caring responsibilities. A 'Young Carer' is any person under the age of 18 who provides emotional and/or practical support for a loved one. To find out more about what a young carer is, please click here.

The project runs monthly, free, creative activities whilst also providing a space for young carers to experience peer support with other young carers within their local area. As a participant in Carers Express, you will also gain opportunities to go on exciting, creative workshops around London at galleries, museums, and theatres. We also run residentials approximately twice a year.

Self-referral is welcome, so if you think you might be a young carer, please take a moment to fill in the referral form. Alternatively, you can fill in the form with a trusted adult (teacher, GP, social worker).

Referral Details

Carers Express is open to all Young Carers within Westminster City Council. At the moment we have no maximum numbers or a waiting list.

Other notes

Carers Express runs the first Sunday of every month. However, this is subject to change depending on school/bank holidays so please check with DreamArts’ Carers Express Lead, Shagufta, for further information. Lunch is provided and is free. We run two groups: a Juniors Group for ages 7-11 and a Seniors Group for ages 11-18. You can find the timings for each group on the referral form.

Carers Express is part of the Westminster City Council, Young Carers Pathway designed in collaboration with DreamArts and Young Westminster Foundation. If you are a young carer, you and your family can potentially receive further support from many other organisations/services within Westminster by filling in a Young Carers Assessment with a trusted professional (teacher, GP etc.), family navigator, or social worker. To access the Young Carers Assessment and Young Carers Pathway Brochure, please contact the Young Carers Navigator, Duncan, for more details. You can contact him on or 07542 224728.
