Ark Brunel Primary Academy is a vibrant school in diverse North Kensington. We are committed to giving our children the very best start in life and encourage them to 'choose brilliance.' Our values of honesty, enthusiasm, ambition, resilience and talent are at the heart of our work and we integrate the explicit teaching of these values into our curriculum. We place great emphasis on core skills in reading, writing and maths and teach other subjects through our creative curriculum in order to motivate the children and make learning meaningful. We enrich the curriculum through many school visits which include making the most of what London has to offer.
Specialist Resource Base for Speech, Language and Communication Needs
Ark Brunel Speech and Language resource base provides children aged 4-11 years who have speech, language and communication needs the opportunity of accessing the curriculum and social opportunities offered by a mainstream school with the support of teachers and teaching assistants who are specialists in language development and speech and language therapists. The resource base provides an environment which enables small group learning, direct intervention alongside and/or in addition to regular classroom learning.
The resource base enables children to follow an individual programme of early intervention to support the development of the speech and language skills which underpin learning.
A key focus is the provision of evidence-based intervention to support language development and attainment of learning goals.
