Learn Well is a mental health prevention and awareness-raising programme designed for students in Year 6 up to the 6th Form.

The programme is made up of a series of seven interactive workshops designed to help improve young people’s psychological well-being. The Learn Well Programme builds resilience in young people by:

  • challenging the stigma around mental health,
  • raising awareness of the support available
  • promoting positive wellbeing strategies and coping skills.

Full programmes or standalone workshops can be scheduled into PSHE lessons, assemblies or drop-down days.

These services are delivered through schools free of charge.

Referral Details

It is accessed as scheduled within the school.  Typically the service is delivered to whole form or class groups but occasionally it is delivered to specific students, as selected by the school.

Other notes

Teachers and/or Teaching Assistants are present to support service delivery and student behaviour.
Pre and post intervention M&E forms are distributed to measure change in wellbeing, through the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale, and changes in knowledge, attitudes and perceptions (a traffick light system is used for CYP with SEND).
Student and teacher feedback is incorporated into service design to ensure it remains relevant, effective and accountable.

Complaints can be made to the person listed above or to the school in which the service is delivered.
