This 8-week course, which runs throughout the year, provides resources to promote a healthier lifestyle. During this course, SVFP provides an exercise class, more specifically High Intensity Interval Training sessions (HIIT). This class lasts for 45 minutes and is led by a professional trainer.
Afterwards, participants of the exercise class will attend a cooking class. In the cooking class, members of our staff highlight ways in which families can get fresher and healthier foods on a budget. Likewise, our staff teach families how to make nutritional and balanced meals. They provide education on basic nutrition, such as reading food labels, or understanding sugars and fats. Our staff offer insight on what foods are best for a child's diet and how to manage picky eaters. After the healthy cooking sessions, all participants prepare a diverse range of meals, which can be shared.
There will be new recipes and topics provided every week. Some of the sessions will include a visit from a dietitian who will talk in depth about different topics, all to no cost to the families.
Start Date: Friday 15th September 2023. For more information, contact Seka Sokic on 07899 775419.
